Beginning in January, Restorative Justice will be available in our region. Restorative Justice (RJ) is a voluntary and safe process that addresses the harm caused by crime by bringing the victims, offenders and community members together to communicate and repair relationships. Rather than solely focusing on punishment, RJ emphasizes repairing the harm, accountability and providing a voice for the person who was harmed. Rooted in Indigenous traditions, RJ processes are guided by facilitators to create a safe place for all to speak and to find solutions that work for everyone involved.
